Tōtika is a NZ pre-qualification cross-recognition-scheme that recognises our Health and Safety efforts and awards us with a rating of compliance with New Zealand’s Health and Safety Act.
Technology
All our trucks are equipped with GPS tracking and dashcams to ensure the safety of the public – and our vehicle recovery specialists.
This means we know where your vehicle is at all points in its journey.
Crash Services has implemented a healthy and safety system which enables us to report, monitor and manage all hazards and risks in our worksites.
We keep a close eye on wide range of variables that happen from the moment get your call, to recovering your vehicle and then to storing it.

Health & Safety at our Storage Facility
Our storage facility is secure and private. To maintain these standards, we ensure that visitors must show photo ID before they’re able to access their own vehicle and be over 15 years of age. We do not allow cameras in our yard and all of our visitors are escorted by a member of our team.
When accessing your vehicle, you will need to be wearing covered shoes and wear the provided high-vis vest.
NOTE – We have a zero tolerance policy for abuse. Any customers swearing, threatening or yelling at our staff will be asked to leave.
Driver Training and Certification
All our Vehicle Recovery Specialists are equipped with the following licenses, endorsements, and certifications:
Class 2 Driver Licenses – or higher.
V Endorsements – This means they can legally tow any vehicles within their Driver Licence category.
Wheels, Tracks & Rollers – They are trained to operate them all.
Forklift Endorsement – They are able to operate Forklifts.
First Aid Certifications – From a scratch to CPR, they’re trained.
De-escalation Training – We are often part of some incredibly stressful times in peoples lives, and like emergency staff, we train to provide you the best experience possible.
